BT Yahoo MailOver the last few days we have seen a sharp rise in people contacting Easykey to help them to recover their hacked BT Yahoo email account

Here are a few tips to prevent most email accounts from being compromised.

Choose a secure password

Make sure you:

  • include letters and numbers
  • avoid using an obvious word
  • include a symbol like ! and ?
  • use a combination of upper and lower case letters

Watch out for Phishing attempts

If you get an email that seems important from BT that takes you to a web page asking for your username and password - be extremely careful and look at the URL. Click here for more help on this

Avoid Honeypot Free Email

The problem with BT Yahoo! and other free email services such as Gmail, Hotmail etc. is that they attract the hackers.  That's because the email settings are publicly avialable except one small key to unlock - your password.  Apparently BT have been investigating a recent Yahoo! email hack in March 2013 - read more

So why not consider an Easykey sponsored email account - (helps to fund the community websites we run)

It only costs £20 per annum, is much safer and we will set it up for you free of charge - Find out more here

Otherwise you could get your own domain - e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
